Pregnancy

While pregnancy is not a condition, there are many uncomfortable or painful symptoms associated with it.

One thing many pregnant women experience is back pain.  The increased weight involved in growing your baby puts increased pressure on your bones, ligaments, and muscles.  This incresed pressure may cause pain in the low back muscles or joints.  Sometimes it even causes upper back pain, headaches or neck pain.

Nursing posture and proper lifting of your baby are also challenges.   Sitting straight with pillows to support your back and arms can prevent shoulder and back pain from nursing.  Some women find the "boppy" pillow helpful as suppot for their baby.  Proper lifting of your child are described in this article.
